A decade back, small group of grassroots level field biologists started working for the biodiversity conservation with the local communities. Ecology, Rural Development & Sustainability (ERDS) Foundation was registered in 2019 to meet the Sustainable Development Goals of United Nations along with strengthening the livelihood opportunities of local communities with a central theme of Community Conservation.

With just 150 adult birds in wild, we are working at landscape level with locals for in-situ conservation of this critically endangered bird.

 Key to the success of any conservation program is to involve young minds. 
We are doing series of conservation education and awareness program in schools of western Rajasthan with a philosophy of "Catch them Young"

Desert Biodiversity 

Every species is integral part of ecosystem, where species depends on another species for their survival.  We are working on the documentation of biodiversity. 

The Great Indian Bustard or Godawan is a keystone species of arid and semi arid grasslands of Indian Subcontinent.
At the same time, this is a umbrella species of desert grasslands and holding a position of flagship species
​status as almost every organism is associated with it.
